Marcus Harun is a finalist in the Television General News Reporting Category at the 2014 Society of Professional Journalists Region 1 Mark of Excellence Awards.
At the Region 1 Spring Conference in Boston on April 25, he was awarded a finalist certificate for his story, “CDC: Drug-resistant bacteria may cause catastrophe.”
“The awards honor the best in student journalism. As such, judges were directed to choose only those entries which they felt were outstanding work worthy of such an honor. SPJ’s Region 1 comprises Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.” – via the SPJ award press release.
